Nokia mobile phones

I went to bed really late last night. At about 0130H, if not 0200H, after having a long chat with Sha about web/email host servers, my website, and loads of other stuff which I now can’t remember. We were both online - both having the good fortune of connecting to a privileged TMNet Streamyx server with relatively good connection speeds - and discussing various internet-ish stuff.

So, I’m kind of tired this morning. My head feels slightly heavy. To add to my misery, I woke up to discover that my Nokia 8210 is acting funny on me. I had left the mobile on all night and discovered this morning that I had received some SMSes while I was sleeping. I clicked a button to read the messages and as the machine tried to retrieve the messages, it seizes!! Much like a Windows machine hanging. It was not a good sign. And nothing could get it moving again. Button-clicking did not work. I finally had to physically remove the battery to get it to shut down. The machine could be slowly dying especially since this is the second time it’s happened. Mind, I’ve had this phone since November/December 2000.

On the other hand, this could be a good excuse to buy a new mobile! I’d love one of those new units with a colour screen and have been eyeing the Nokia 6610 which is the closest to the 8210/8250 series in terms of size and styling in the new collection. On the other hand, I’ve always loved the sleek metallic look of the 8855, but admittedly the technology is somewhat outdated. The other unit which I kind of fancy is one of the new units with built-in digital camera, the 3650, however, it is quite chunky.

Anyway… we’ll see…
