Missing the UK…

Things I miss about/in the UK:
* The newspapers, in particular the quality and nature of the writing. Yes, of course you can access online editions, but they’re not quite the same as the printed paper, especially the Sunday editions. My favourite title was the Guardian/Observer
* Supermarkets - God they’re sooo good. Lovely products, nice orange-y lighting and pleasant shopping surroundings. Not loud blaring music as they do in Malaysia. My favourite was Sainsbury’s, but Tesco’s is alright too. But charge into a Waitrose if you ever come across one - divine…
* The classical music section in HMV
* The bookshops
* Kudos in Charing Cross! Particularly when I’m out with Mike - we had such laughs.
* People who speak proper English!

  1. I would just like to mention that Kudos isn’t the same without Jikon’s occasional, frequent(?) visits!… and that now I don’t have Jikon around to “encourage” me to introduce myself to guys there then many more innocent lives are spared any intrusion by me!

    I notice, Jikon, you don’t mention the “lovely” grey days we get far too frequently?

    Gosh, I am an old cynic….

    Mike x

  2. I didn’t think you’d notice the grey days seeing as how you hardly spend any time outdoors, whether it’s for work or recreation!
