Things I miss about/in the UK:
* The newspapers, in particular the quality and nature of the writing. Yes, of course you can access online editions, but they’re not quite the same as the printed paper, especially the Sunday editions. My favourite title was the Guardian/Observer
* Supermarkets - God they’re sooo good. Lovely products, nice orange-y lighting and pleasant shopping surroundings. Not loud blaring music as they do in Malaysia. My favourite was Sainsbury’s, but Tesco’s is alright too. But charge into a Waitrose if you ever come across one - divine…
* The classical music section in HMV…
* The bookshops
* Kudos in Charing Cross! Particularly when I’m out with Mike - we had such laughs.
* People who speak proper English!

I bought a copy of Frommer’s guide to Boston (2001 ed.) at a warehouse (a.k.a. remainders) book sale today! Not that I’m planning a trip to the US, well at least not for a holiday in Boston, but because I thought it would be cute to buy a guide to Boston seeing as how Harvard University is located close to this city and … well… needless to say, I’m building up anticipation, albeit in a slightly superficial manner.
Anyway, I look forward to reading it and seeing all that Boston, and Harvard, has to offer me… eventually!

Damien and I concluded today that sweet, cute, adorable, cuddly Asian rice, the sort consumed by Rice Queens, are like meringue - beautifully crafted on the outside, appear too precious to crush, but melts in your mouth, disappears through your throat and leaves nothing behind except a sweet after taste.

Someone accussed me of quoting Cainer too much in my blog. So, I shall refrain from doing so this time. Although I will state that my life is one big bore and that Cainer is, sadly, the highlight of my day, especially when he keeps promising good times ahead, as he again did today. But I shall leave you to find that out for yourself.
Meanwhile, the working week begins today after a long Easter weekend. Nothing terribly exciting happening today, but the rest of the week will be one big social calendar, mostly filled with Promuda-linked gatherings - residence of the Brazillian Embassy tomorrow evening, possibly Promuda’s Toastmasters on Thursday evening, and finally meeting a few members of Promuda for coffee on Friday after dinner.
Despite the resolve to return to the GRE books yesterday, I have failed to do so. On the other hand, I discovered that I might have a friend coming along to Harvard or Princeton next year, but that’s only if I get my act together…

A bond market as a means to greater regional financial stability, writes Bloomberg columnist, William Pesek Jr. in the International Herald Tribune on 08 April 2003. I extracted it from their website, from < http://www.iht.com/articles/92379.html>.
