I’ve survived the week

If you’ve come looking for insightful views or an entertaining read, you’ve come to the wrong place today. It’s just about all I can do trying to keep up with life this last week.

The tarot cards, and to some extent Cainer, have been right about life beginning “anew” towards the end of August. Not only has Andrew been nicer to me lately, but the work load has picked up, which in my case is a good thing.

This week has been particularly busy. On the work front, the week has been manic what with a major visit looming up, and two smaller ones which I have to organise on the side. I can’t believe I actually made it through the week, and survived. I’ve had to juggle several, nay many, things all at once because aside from all the pressing demands at work I was also asked to speak at another Promuda Career Roadshow - this time at University Putra Malaysia (more on this in another post). This meant preparation and handing in an advance set of notes for my very vague notion of a speech which I eventually decided to change at the very last minute. In between all this, I was working on another personal “distraction from confronting life” project - this somehow commanded more attention and dedication than it warranted and is now more or less on even keel!

I haven’t really been reading the blogs either, at least not at the rate I used to before this week. My sincerest apologies to my fellow bloggers for missing out on large chunks of your life, particularly to those who despite my appaling disregard for their blogs have nevertheless continued to come visiting mine - I’m ever so honoured!

Aside from the blog, I also found myself in the peculiar situation of not following the news in the last couple of days, peculiar because I’m largely paid to do so. However, this was actually quite welcome - the news after all is largely dominated by negativities and the absence of my daily dose actually made me feel a little, if not a lot, better! I most certainly do not miss the arcane parochial discourse of Malaysian politics.

Alas, life returns to “normal” next week, albeit with a higher level of workload. Fortunately, things continue to look up. A lot of us have had a particularly bad month of August. That is about to change, though not before going through another rough patch for some of us - see Cainer if you’re really keen. I’m only glad I’m an Arian since I will soon have “nothing more than wonderful, much-deserved progress”.

Yippee!
