This is not a blog post. It’s an announcement.
A couple of friends and I have decided to set up a website to feature, publish and promote contemporary Malaysian writing.
We felt that a void existed in the literary scene in Malaysia and we hope that the site will become a channel for writers to publish their work (largely free from content censorship) and a focal point for readers looking for good quality Malaysian contemporary writing. It also hopes to serve as a channel for support and feedback to both aspiring and established writers.
You’ll find a full description of the site and our intentions here.
We are presently inviting submissions for publication. You are welcome to submit any written work you might like to see in “print” in the public domain. We would publish material on a variety of subject matter in both the English and Malay languages. Do visit the site if you feel you have something to contribute.

Oh my God… I wonder what this might mean in light of what I am presently doing… (from Cainer):
One good way to avoid disappointment is to lower expectation. One good way to avoid failure is to banish all thought of success. Many people pursue this policy. It makes them feel very comfortable, even if it does prevent them ever achieving very much. Few born under your sign, though, find this idea very attractive. You far prefer to try, even if you end up falling flat on your face, than to give up without a fight. You half suspect now, that you are making an empty effort. Make it anyhow. You won’t be sorry.

It’s another good reading from Cainer, no matter how remote from “reality” it might be!
You can reasonably argue that much is not as you intended it to be. You don’t, though, have too many grounds for complaint. A benign sky is taking good care of your primary needs. As these include the desire to feel secure, loved and engaged in something constructive, we have to ask how important your secondary needs can possibly be. These all involve wishing you could exert more control and authority over a certain situation. All in good time. For now, be glad of what you’ve got. Sooner than you think, you’ll get more.

from the recent Singapore trip:
“Good chocolate is like good sex. It must be digested in moderation.”
“He said I was fucking him very nicely”
- I need to eat.
- you mean, something more substantial and that can really be called food!?
“If someone would give me the green light, I’m there!”
- I wonder if we’ll be doing this when we’re 39?
- For my sake and hopefully yours too, I hope we don’t. Otherwise point me to the nearest cliff and let me jump off it now and end this eternal misery.

A friend of mine told me about this and I just couldn’t resist taking the Straight-Acting quiz… and I scored…. 159!! Which means:
LEVEL 8 — EXTREMELY FEMININE
You got it, you flaunt it. You don’t even try to hide it. You want the world to know that you are proud of who you are and if it means two snaps with a ‘you go girlfriend’ then so be it. Life is too short to be someone you’re not, and you’ll be damned if you’re going to suppress your girlish charm for anyone.
This is so funny! I can’t help laughing!
