as if proving a point
As if in response to my earlier post, the New Straits Times published this article today reporting how students are (hopefully) being discouraged from getting into a life of crime through caning/whipping demonstrations at school. The Star also published a similar article.

yes, very pescient of you to predict they will be doing caning demos. i think u may have written it thinking it wont happen. maybe the authorities read u blog, and got the idea from u, who knows eh?
Hmmm. Growing up when caning was still a real possibility kinda helped MY childhood. I don’t remember any Mat Rempit riding around on their bikes in the middle of the night, either.
I guess corporal punishment worked for me, but I can’t say the same for these brats.
whipping demo in school
what do you think of the caning demostrations held in the taiping SK school? they were also shown photographs of injuries sustained from the whipping.
SUHAKAM has rightly condemend the whipping demostrations.
canning in household by our parents, or even cannig in school is a lot different from this canning of prisoners. those kind of canning i agree to help in childhood.
canning of prisoners teach a lesson to the prisoners? well it may be so but why show it to students?
