fuckster
I’ve been pondering about something a friend of mine has been telling me…
A certain young lady who used to maintain a certain Malaysiana Digest has been (enthusiastically) expounding a new “phenomenon” (repeatedly) - the idea of degrees of sex-peration, i.e. how many people are “related” to you by virtue of sexual relations among your network of acquaintances? For example, if I had sex with A, and A had sex with B, and B had sex with C and D, then there’s one degree of sex-peration between A and I and three degrees of sex-peration between C and D and I.
This got me thinking… considering that gay men are generally very active sexually, I could potentially be closely “related” with quite a number of people. More importantly, considering that several of my previous lovers have slept with individuals of both sexes, there could, for all I know, only be a few degrees of sex-peration between this young lady friend of mine and I! Which got me thinking about the exchange of fluids and the very grotesque idea that someone who could have been in her, would then have been in me…. eerrruuurghhh!!!!!!! how gross!!!!! so tidak!
But seriously, if there were such a thing as a Fuckster, how many “fuck buddies” I would have in my circle? How many people would be related to me by virtue of the exchange of sexual fluids? How intimate have I become with the world around me?
And how scary would that knowledge be…??!!??
Do I really want to know??

My God, Fuckster (if it ever exist) will be my biggest nightmare, considering the amount of people (girls only) that i have slept with for the past 8 months, and yet most of em know each other.
Haaa ….. fuckster is a damn brilliant idea. But can a virgin like me register too? Who do i put as my fuck buddy? Do dream fucks count?

sorry for the repeat … for virgins, our hands tend to shake in the presence of the word f*ck …. hence return key was hit twice ….
there’s a saying that when you fuck someone you do fuck all the rest of the people whom that someone fucked.
ha ha jikon. that sounds exactly like what my phd is all about! believe me, the fluid pool is a whole lot of caring and sharing.
Hmph.
I managed to steal some time to read, and this is what I get?
Still, fuckster…but then again, a gentleman NEVER kisses (or fucks) and tells, eh?
can you all imagine the sort of testimonials we’d have in Fuckster?!?
“she was really good in bed. screamed like a wild cat all night”
or
“god, was he hung! and boy did he really know how to use his tool!”
Fuckster - ugh, what an awful idea. I’d REALLY rather not know how many people I’m connected to via the various one night stands I may or may not have had
One afternoon in a sauna or an evening in Hampstead Heath would probably crash your page on the website anyway.
Yes Jay, precisely, you beat me to it!
…could add “pants” or “boots only” nights to your list, not to mention “hard on” and “rude boyz” here… the principle’s the same.
hey i am still straight or wait it’s not me you guys are talking about hahahahahahaahaha
hahaha… Mike, there’s at most only three degrees of sex-peration between the two of us. Remember Chris from Gay Pride?!??
Karina: what is your PhD about?!? exactly..?
Jikon…oooohhhh…NOW I understand what it was that you and “the lady” were talking about on Monday!! Heh heh heh…..that’s funny…”sexperation”….:-D
Underwear Night at Substation South, every Monday. Lots of guys, dodgy underwear, grubby netting and a pool table that’s sticky by 2am.
Christ, can’t believe it took me 3 visits to decide it’s not for me.
Jay: I wonder what happened on the first and second visits…!
Yes Jay, come on, spill the, er, beans
Hmm, 3 visits you say? We probably have met then! Maybe we’re less than 2 degrees apart after all?
..and Jikon, how could I possibly forget Chris?!… and how we all emerged that day?!.. especially after the “reminder” I e-mailed you about last Friday!
Jikon, Mike: I really didn’t get up to much. I felt terribly awkward -and it didn’t help that I went with friends on all three occasions. I imagine the last thing you’d want when you’re face down on that pool table is your friends giggling in the corner.
I went there as a voyeur to the seedier side of London. Who says life isn’t a spectator sport?
So no Mike, I think we’re still safely separated by a few degrees.
fade0: there’s no point in virgins joining the fuckster. they’ll be an island apart with no linkages to anyone. what’s the point of joining a network when they can’t be networked?!?!!
for that matter, staunch muslims who actually observe abstinance would also have no reason to join this network…!
People have pre-maritial sex??
:O
haha jikon. Sorry, shouldn’t have said “exactly”.. “sounds a lot like” is more like it.
the phd? the current topic is: partnership patterns among gay men in australia (”regular” vs “casual”) and how that impacts HIV incidence.
sorry to sound morbid, but disease transmission is one trace of such sex-peration. ever see how in CSI they identify sex partners by the DNA/strain of gonorrhoea/syphillis etc?
and “fuck-buddies” is an academically accepted terminology, too.
Karina: maybe you should set up Fuckster! it would be a great research tool! you might even get funding to support the site! after all, this is in the interest of academic knowledge and societal welfare at large…
BTW, I would be interested to know if there was a statistically significant correlation between number of “casual” sexual partners and incidence of HIV infection - what does your research say?
maybe i should!
here’s a summary of some preliminary results:
- 40% of gay men have unprotected sex with regular partners, compared to 30% with casual partners (but the numbers for casual partners was increasing at a higher rate)
- Men have more casual partners per person and 13% of these partners (with whom they have unprotected sex) are HIV+ (compared to 8% of regular partners)
- BUT those men with HIV+ regular partners tend to have 4 times more repeated sex acts per partner compared to casual partners (almost by definition)
that last point has tipped the balance and given me the results that only 20% of new HIV cases each year are acquired from casual partners (but that proportion is rising yearly).
I’ve gone geek. Your fault for asking.
hmmm… i’m not surprised. i do think that there’s an increasing prevalence of gay men who choose no longer to practise “safe sex”. and i believe this is a globally developing phenomenon. firstly, the HIV awareness publicity campaign is receding. secondly, people get tired of “living in fear”. and thirdly, after a while, you want to know what it feels like doing it “bare back”. and most say there is a difference in sensation - at least for the “fucker”.
on a lighter note… i can only imagine how you conduct your primary research… do you go out and conduct interviews?!? can i be your research assistant?!? or guinea pig? it’s a great way to meet men! and all gay at that! with any luck, i’ll be down under come february… (fingers crossed now)…
Thanks Karina and Jikon, for these last few posts… I can’t help but concur that my non-scientific research (my sampling method is rather skewed for instance!) anecdotaly bears out all the data that unprotected sex is on the rise.
I’m all in favour of us being given the facts, and everyone deciding for themselves. I’m probably more logical in my thinking than many yet I’m human/animal too - the latter being the (only?) rationale for casual sex given that there’s HIV around?
Most people then make up their rules about this as with many things. I’ve had a mouth ulcer this week so even thinking naughty thoughts has been a complete no-no, never mind putting them into practice (ok, thinking has been as far as I’ve gone…) hence why I’m so active here this week perhaps?
Jay: Aaah, so you HAVE at least seen me then (face down, etc, etc)?!!
Didn’t notice the giggling… probably too preoccupied!… :-p
Karina - aren’t fuckbuddies both regular AND casual?
Mike - I’d never allow myself to be brutally manhandled by a bunch of rough, anonymous rutting blokes - not on a pool table, anyway.
jikon - aren’t you horrified by the perverts who visit your blog? :-p
perverts? my blog? nooooo…..!!!! really?
jikon: am afraid i can’t claim much credit for primary data collection - am part of a bigger social research group which does that. You really should see the questionnaire: very graphic and takes two hours of interviewing!
Mike: my pleasure.
jay: yup, in relationship terms. but for research sake, ‘casual’ refers more to short-term/once-off partnerships with people they don’t know so well. Fuckbuddies tend to be regular.
I’ve taken part in similar surveys before - there’s a little kick involved in letting complete strangers know exactly what you get up to in the bedroom (or the great outdoors), in wet, explicit detail.
Anonymously, of course.
Yes Jay, I know what you mean about being, er, probed in this way…. I filled one out earlier this year… though it didn’t ask for the wet and messy details (shame, eh?)… or maybe you just get carried away away and give it to them anyway in the “any other comments or suggestions”-type box at the end?!
Other thoughts/ramblings: they don’t call it the “great” outdoors for nothing, do they?; and
I bet our statistics are “nothing” compared to some; and
Wouldn’t mind reading what you wrote as I like how you post here… but then it wouldn’t be anonymous, I know…
