Big Computer Company “D” instructs Big Courier Company “D” to pick up a notebook from anonymous but infamous and fussy consumer … ooo… let’s call him Mr JL.
Big Courier Company “D” calls Mr JL on Friday, 17 December, to discuss the pick-up scheduled for Monday, 20 December. On Monday, Mr JL found himself sending Big Courier Company “D” the following email:
Dear Giggling Staff of Big Courier Company “D”,
We had agreed during our conversation on Friday, 17 December, that you would call me today, Monday, 20 December, to confirm a more specific time for the pick-up of the package. Unfortunately, I have NOT been contacted by Big Courier Company “D” all morning.
At approximately 1120H this morning, a courier staff of Big Courier Company “D” arrived at my office and reported to the receptionist that he had a package to pick-up from me. The receptionist promptly attempted to locate me in the building. Unfortunately, the courier staff of Big Courier Company “D” waited NO MORE than FIVE minutes before deciding that he could no longer wait as he was “busy”. When I got down to the reception area, he had just walked out. This was NO MORE than FIVE to TEN minutes after he first arrived at the building.
I have not been formally advised as to whether Big Courier Company “D” will re-attempt to pick up the package later in the day, and if so at what time, or if the pick-up will be postponed to another day and time more convenient to your courier staff. In either case, should a delay in delivery arise, Big Computer Company “D” should be formally advised.
Thank you.
REGARDS
Mr JL
Twenty minutes after sending the email, the courier staff of Big Courier Company “D” returned to Mr JL’s office. Apparently he wasn’t that “busy” after all. Unfortunately, at that time, Mr JL was occupied elsewhere in the building and was not free until 15 minutes later. Poor “busy” courier staff of Big Courier Company “D” had to wait longer than he would have done if he had been more patient earlier on.
Moral of the story? There is none. I just thought it was funny, if in a sad way.
