knitting a scarf
Well… I’m either really bored, really lazy (and thus avoiding work), or really stressed.
I bought this book today, got some nice “novelty” yarn and I’m going to try and learn to knit the pink scarf you see in the picture on the left!

UPDATE: This is how far I’ve come - 2.5 inches of a scarf after roughly two hours of knitting. Remember, I’ve never knit before this.

This scarf is going to be soooo gorgeous!

Julia Roberts knits. How that is of any relevance, I don’t know.
very bright pink. well, at least you’ll be a cheery bright spot amidst the dreary grey of winter. go jikon!
Looks good. I tried knitting once, gave up after three rows of basic about 12 inches long. I went back to cross-stitch.
I LOVE KNITTING…but yarn here in M’sia sucks big-time. I miss the variety of fluffy, colourful yarns of different textures/materials…
Keep it up and you know what would be a great project? A throw over!!! *drools*
ps: I heard from somewhere that bamboo/wooden knitting needles are better but never found out why. ~_~
Pick Yin: cross stitch is easier but not very useful… i mean what do you do with all those pretty “pictures”?!? they’re too tacky to frame up and hang on a wall.
I used to crochet - that’s more difficult than knitting - but the patterns for projects are a little tacky…
Spot: this scarf is going to my cousin. i’m knitting myself a two-tone blue striped one later.
Mei: yarn - you want ah…??
wow`
very nice colour and design.
the steps are very clear in the book and easy to follow?
glinar: the instructions in the book is not super clear but it’s clear enough to get me started. on one occassion i did have to cross reference with the instructions in other books to understand what i needed to do, but you see, i’m good at that - doing research that is!
I’m too shy to ask.
I’m knitting a blue-ish scarf with leftover yarn I bought from Australia two years ago…hopefully that turns out good.
ps: Good site to go (to get free patterns and even different types of stitches) to is http://knitting.about.com
