I rang in 2006 on Circular Quay, Sydney watching a 15 minute pyrotechnic show. I was alone but I was in a happy place. I hadn’ t felt so good about myself in a long time. I was not just contented, I was also at peace. Deep inside, I was burning with hope and my mind was conscious of the possibilities out there in the world. While I might not have began the year with a bang, I am nevertheless bracing myself for what I know will be ride in only one direction - up.
